Welcome
Community Service
The Orthopedic Spine Associates team is committed to making Eugene/Springfield a better place to live and participates in a number of community activities. Our physicians and staff regularly donate time and resources to community organizations, including McKenzie-Willamette's Festival of Trees and Food for Lane County. Additionally, Dr. Kitchel visits local schools monthly to check children's spines for scoliosis, at no charge to the family or school district.
Home Runs Against Hunger
Dr. Kitchel has long been a supporter of Food for Lane County. He also likes baseball. So when he decided to support the Eugene Emeralds with an outfield sign about his spine and neck practice, he came up with an idea that would combine both interests: Every time the Eugene Emeralds hit a home run, an Ems announcer would say, "That's another home run against hunger," and mention that Orthopedic Spine Associates would donate $100 to Food for Lane County. So at the end of the 2006 baseball season, Dr. Kitchel presented a check in the amount of $5,000 to Pat Farr, Food for Lane County's executive director, during a special on-field celebration.
